Don't be Stupid. Don't Talk And Drive

How to Make Driving and Talking Safer

We all should realize that driving while talking on the cell phone is not a good idea. The truth is, it is down right life threatening. Unfortunately, very few of us actually realize how dangerous mixing driving and cell phones can be. There have been a number of studies released lately that provide undeniable evidence that driving and talking on the phone is extremely distracting and contributes to high rates of accidents. Despite these numbers being presented to us we seem so shrug off reports as if there is not actual science behind them. The truth is driving and talking on the cell phone is extremely dangerous. In fact, one study went as far as concluding that cell phones and driving was actually worse then drinking and driving. It seems dramatic but it’s time that people start taking this seriously.

So you want to quit your bad habit of driving and talking but you don’t know what you should do. Well, there are a few options for you out there. Obviously the best option is to not talk while you drive and concentrate on the road but it’s not a perfect world so that is not always an option. There are a number of hands free devices out there that can reduce your levels of distraction.

You can choose from a number of hands free devices. One of the more popular options is the Bluetooth device. I’m sure you all know that these are the earpiece devices that you wear on one ear and communicate with your phone via wireless Bluetooth signals. Some of the more popular brands are Plantronics, Motorola and Aliph. Aliph is the a little more obscure company who makes the very popular Jawbone Bluetooth headset. The major drawback with such devices is cost. You can easily pay over $100 dollars for these high-tech devices.

If you don’t have it in your budget to pay for the expensive Bluetooth devices there are some other options. One of these options is the Jupiter Jack. Don’t just discount this as an option because it’s an As Seen On TV product. The device plugs into your cell phone and then transmits your telephone conversation through your speakers wirelessly through your radio. You have two different radio stations to choose so that if one is not coming in clear you can simply switch to the other. The big selling point to the device is that it is considerably cheaper than Bluetooth headsets and can be purchased for $20 dollars. There are a few Jupiter Jack reviews out there. Most of the complaints are from people who do not read the fine print about being charged extra for shipping.

As you can see you have a number of options when it comes to driving and talking on your phone. Obviously the best option is simply not to partake in conversation while you’re in the car. Yes, there is a cost involved but it is miniscule to the cost of an accident. There is no question that you should switch to a hands free device such as a bluetooth headset of perhaps a cheaper option like the Jupiter Jack device. Don't put it off any longer because the longer you, statistically the sooner you will be in an accidnet.
